Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Greet students and introduce the letter E. Ask if anyone knows any words that start with the letter E. Show a large printed uppercase and lowercase 'E'. - Video Viewing (5 mins)
Play the Bounce Patrol's 'The Letter E Song' video. Encourage students to sing along and do the actions. - Discussion (5 mins)
After the video, review the words introduced in the song: egg, elbow, elephant, elf, emperor, and empty. Show pictures of each item. - Activity: 'E' Sound Practice (5 mins)
Practice making the 'e' sound together as a class. Have students repeat the sound after you, exaggerating the mouth movements. Use hand motions to represent the sound (e.g., flapping hands like an elephant's ears). - Activity: 'E' Word Hunt (10 mins)
Hide pictures of objects that start with 'E' (egg, elephant, etc.) around the room. Have students find the pictures and say the word aloud when they find it. For younger children, provide one picture to each child instead to start. - Creative Activity: 'E' Coloring (10 mins)
