Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students if they know their ABCs. Introduce the concept of vowels as special letters. Tell them you are going to watch a video about the vowels. - Video Viewing (3 mins)
Play the 'The Vowels Phonics Song for Children' video. Encourage students to clap and sing along. - Vowel Review (5 mins)
After the video, review each vowel. Point to each vowel (A, E, I, O, U) and say its name and sound. Ask the students to repeat after you. - Word Association (7 mins)
Show pictures of an apple, egg, iguana, octopus, and umbrella. Say the name of each object clearly, emphasizing the vowel sound at the beginning. Have students repeat the word after you. - Interactive Game: Vowel Hunt (5 mins)
Hide large, laminated vowel cards around the room. Call out a vowel sound, and have the students find the corresponding card. Repeat for each vowel.
