After the video, discuss the words that were featured (snake, saxophone, sock, swing, sister). Ask students if they can think of any other words that start with S. Write these words on a board or chart paper (with a simple drawing next to each word). - Making the S Sound (5 mins)
Practice making the /s/ sound together as a class. Explain that it's like a snake hissing. Have each student take a turn making the sound. - S is for Sensory Bin (10 mins)
Prepare a sensory bin filled with items that start with the letter S, such as small toy snakes, socks, small stones, or sand. Let the students explore the bin and name the items they find, emphasizing the /s/ sound at the beginning of each word. - Writing S (7 mins)
