Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students if they know any letters. Introduce the letter 'H' (uppercase and lowercase) and write it on the board. Tell them they are going to learn about the letter H today and sing a fun song! - Watch the Video (5 mins)
Play 'The Letter H Song' video by ABCmouse. Encourage students to watch and listen carefully to the words in the song. - Sing Along (5 mins)
Play the video again and encourage students to sing along with the song. Point to the letter H on the board as it's mentioned in the song. - H Word Hunt (10 mins)
After the song, ask students to name words from the song that start with the letter H. Write the words on the board. Discuss what each word means and if they know of anything else that starts with 'H'. (Examples: hat, house, happy, hippo) - Letter H Craft (10 mins)
Provide students with construction paper and crayons. Have them draw a big letter H (uppercase or lowercase) and then draw or paste pictures of things that start with the letter H around it. (Examples: horse, house, heart) - Wrap up (5 mins)
Review letter H and it's sound. Have children say the words you have on the board that start with letter H, as a class.
