Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Greet the students and introduce the topic: the letter T! Show them a large uppercase 'T' and a lowercase 't'. Ask if anyone knows what letter it is. - Watch the "The Letter T Song" (3 mins)
Play the ABCmouse.com "The Letter T Song" video for the class. Encourage them to sing along and dance. - Discuss the Song (5 mins)
After the video, ask the students what they saw and heard in the song. What were some of the words that started with the letter T? - "T" Word Brainstorm (7 mins)
Brainstorm a list of words that start with the letter T. Write them on a whiteboard or large paper, drawing simple pictures next to each word to help the children visualize them. Examples: table, toy, tree, tiger, train, turtle. - Letter T Tracing (10 mins)
Provide each student with a worksheet that has uppercase and lowercase 'T's for them to trace. Guide them to correctly form the letter with their pencils or crayons. Provide verbal cues for correct letter formation. - "T" Treasure Hunt (10 mins)
Hide pictures or objects that begin with the letter 'T' around the room (e.g., a toy car, a picture of a tree, a tea bag). Have the children search for the 'T' treasures. As they find them, have them say the name of the object and emphasize the 'T' sound.
