  • Introduction (5 mins)
    Greet students and introduce the topic: 'Today, we're going to become Sight Word Superstars! We'll learn some special words that help us read!'
  • Video Time (10 mins)
    Play the Jack Hartmann Sight Words video: 'New Sight Words 6'. Encourage students to sing along, spell the words, and say the words three times as instructed in the video.
  • Word Card Practice (10 mins)
    Prepare word cards with the sight words from the video (so, these, would, other, into, has, more, two, like, him, see, time). Show each card and have students say the word together. Then, have them spell the word aloud.
  • Sight Word Hunt (10 mins)
    Hide the word cards around the room. Have students find the cards, bring them back, and say the word and spell it.
  • Wrap Up (5 mins)
    Review the sight words learned. Ask students which word was their favorite. Praise their efforts and participation: 'You are all Sight Word Superstars!'

    Draw a hopscotch grid on the floor. Write a sight word in each square. Have students hop to each square and say the word as they land on it.
