  • D Words Exploration (7 mins)
    Review the words from the song (dog, dinner, dinosaur, duck, doctor, dancing). Show pictures or flashcards of each word. Ask the students to repeat the words and share if they have any experience with those things (e.g., 'Do you have a dog?', 'What's your favorite dinner?').
  • Doodle D's (10 mins)
    Provide each student with a piece of paper and crayons. Have them practice writing uppercase and lowercase D's. Encourage them to draw pictures of things that start with the letter D around their letters.

  • Letter D Hunt
    Hide letter D cutouts around the classroom (both uppercase and lowercase). Have the children search for them and bring them back. Each time a letter D is found, say the 'D' sound together.
