Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students if they know any letters. Introduce the letter D and explain that today they will be learning about it. Show them the uppercase and lowercase D. - Video Viewing (3 mins)
Play the "Letter Dd song, uppercase D, lowercase d" video from Kiz Phonics. Encourage children to sing along and repeat the letter and words. - Discussion (5 mins)
After the video, review the letter D and its sound. Ask students to name words that start with D, prompting them with the examples from the video (dog, duck, dancing). - Writing Practice (7 mins)
Guide students on how to write the uppercase and lowercase letter D. Have them trace the letters in the air, on a whiteboard, or on paper. Provide assistance as needed. - Activity Time (5 mins)
Have the students draw their favorite thing that starts with the letter D. Have them practice writing the letter D on the paper as well.
