Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Greet the students and introduce the letter of the day: G. Show them a picture of uppercase and lowercase G. Ask if anyone knows the letter. - Watch the Letter G Song (3 mins)
Play the 'Letter G Song' video from Have Fun Teaching. Encourage students to sing along and dance. - Vocabulary Exploration (7 mins)
After the song, discuss the words from the song that start with G: girl, gum, green, good, giraffe, gym, giant, gentle. Show pictures of each and ask students to repeat the words. Discuss the meaning of each word. For example, 'What color is green?' 'What does it mean to be gentle?' - Writing Practice (5 mins)
Follow the instructions in the song and have students practice writing uppercase and lowercase G in the air. Then, provide worksheets with dotted lines for students to trace the letter G. (See video description for worksheet link) - Interactive Game: 'G' Object Hunt (5 mins)
Hide objects that start with the letter G around the room (e.g., green toy, a picture of a giraffe, a piece of gum - displayed not for eating). Have students find the objects and say the word aloud.
