  • Video Time! (3 mins)
    Play the 'Letter J Song' video by Have Fun Teaching. Encourage students to sing along and dance to the music.
  • Vocabulary Exploration (7 mins)
    After the video, discuss the vocabulary words introduced in the song (jar, jelly, jug, juice, job, July, jokes, joy). Show pictures of each item. Ask students if they have seen or used these items before. Have them repeat the words after you, emphasizing the /j/ sound.
  • Writing Practice (10 mins)
    Guide students on how to write the uppercase and lowercase letter J. Have them use their fingers to trace the letter in the air. Then, provide worksheets with dotted lines for them to practice writing the letter J. For students who are not yet ready to write, provide them with playdough to form the letter J.
  • J is for... Game (5 mins)
    Play a simple game where you say 'J is for...' and students have to come up with a word that starts with the letter J. Provide hints or examples if needed.
