Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students if they know any letters of the alphabet. Introduce the idea that today they will learn about the letter K. Show them a picture of a capital 'K' and a lowercase 'k'. - Video Viewing (3 mins)
Play the 'The Letter K Song' video from Bounce Patrol. Encourage the children to sing along and make the /k/ sound when prompted. - Discussion (5 mins)
After the video, lead a discussion about the letter K and the words shown in the video. - Activity: K Word Creation (7 mins)
Have children draw a picture of their favorite 'K' word from the video (kite, koala, kangaroo, kids, key, karate). Then encourage them to try and write the letter 'K' next to their picture with assistance.

Have students practice making the /k/ sound together as a class. Use simple prompts like 'Say /k/ like a kangaroo!' - Letter K Hunt
Hide uppercase and lowercase 'K' cutouts around the room. Have students search for them and bring them back to you. As they find each letter, have them say the /k/ sound.
