Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by introducing Liam the Lion (from the video) and telling students they will be learning to write all the letters of the alphabet. Sing the alphabet song together as a class to activate prior knowledge. - Watch the Video (45 mins)
Play the YouTube video "How to Write Letters A-Z – Learning to Write the Alphabet for Kids – Uppercase and Lowercase Letters." Encourage students to follow along and practice writing each letter in the air or on a whiteboard as it's presented in the video. Pause the video after each letter to allow for additional practice. - Guided Practice (20 mins)
Distribute handwriting worksheets with dotted lines for each letter (uppercase and lowercase). Guide students through writing each letter, providing individual assistance as needed. Focus on proper letter formation. - Independent Practice (15 mins)
Have students independently practice writing letters on blank paper or in handwriting notebooks. Encourage them to choose their favorite letters to practice. - Wrap Up (5 mins)
Review all the letters learned. Ask students which letter was their favorite to write and why. Praise effort and progress.
