Play the 'Write the Letter O' video from 123ABCtv. Encourage students to watch carefully how the letter is formed, both uppercase and lowercase. - Guided Practice - Uppercase 'O' (5 mins)
Using a whiteboard or large paper, demonstrate how to write the uppercase 'O'. Verbalize the steps: 'Start at the top, and make a big circle!'. Have the students practice writing the uppercase 'O' in the air with their fingers, then on paper or a whiteboard. - Guided Practice - Lowercase 'o' (5 mins)
Demonstrate how to write the lowercase 'o'. Verbalize the steps: 'Start in the middle, and make a small circle!'. Have the students practice writing the lowercase 'o' in the air with their fingers, then on paper or a whiteboard. - Independent Practice (7 mins)
Provide each student with a worksheet containing dotted lines to trace uppercase and lowercase 'O's. Encourage them to try writing the letters on their own after tracing. - Wrap Up (5 mins)
