Begin by asking children if they know the letter Q. Show them a picture of a quail and explain that Q is for Quail! Introduce the video and explain that they will learn how to write the letter Q. - Uppercase Q (7 mins)
Watch the video segment (0:14-0:56) focusing on the uppercase Q. Pause after each step and have the children mimic the movements in the air with their fingers. Then, have them practice writing the uppercase Q on a whiteboard or paper. - Lowercase q (7 mins)
Watch the video segment (0:56-End) focusing on the lowercase q. Pause after each step and have the children mimic the movements in the air with their fingers. Then, have them practice writing the lowercase q on a whiteboard or paper. - Practice and Review (6 mins)
Have the children practice writing both uppercase and lowercase Q on a worksheet. Circulate and provide assistance as needed. Encourage them to say 'Q' while they write the letter.
