    Start by greeting the students and introducing the letter Q. Show the uppercase and lowercase versions of the letter.
  • Video Viewing (5 mins)
    Play the 'Disney Zootopia Surprise Egg Learn-A-Letter!' video. Encourage students to watch and listen carefully for words that start with the letter Q.
  • Word Exploration (5 mins)
    After the video, review the words introduced: Queen, Quartz, Quilt, Quail, Quarter. Say each word clearly and have the students repeat after you. Discuss the meaning of each word.
  • Spelling Practice (5 mins)
    Spell out each word slowly, emphasizing each letter. Have the students try to spell the words along with you, either verbally or by writing the letters (if able).
  • Activity: Q is for...
    Hand out an activity sheet with the letter Q on it. Have children draw pictures of things that start with the letter Q (e.g. queen, quilt, quail).
  • Surprise Egg Review (3 mins)
    Remind students of the surprise egg at the end of the video. Ask them what letter was inside (Apple). Review the spelling of Apple (A-P-P-L-E).
