Discuss the words introduced in the video (Robot, Rectangle, Rocket, Rabbit, Red, Rainbow, Raining, Read, Ran, Refrigerator, Raspberries, Remember, Recycle, Reduce, Reuse). Ask them if they can think of any other R words.
  • Activity: R is for...
    Provide each student with a piece of paper and crayons. Have them draw a picture of something that starts with the letter R (e.g., rainbow, rabbit, rocket, red). Encourage them to say the word as they draw.

    Hide uppercase and lowercase letter R cutouts around the classroom. Have students find the letters and bring them to you. Each time a letter is found, say the /r/ sound together.
