Play the 'First & Last: There Are Seven Days' video. Encourage students to clap and sing along. - Discussion (5 mins)
After the video, ask students what the song was about. Review each day of the week, pointing to it on the calendar. Have students repeat each day after you. - Calendar Activity (10 mins)
Give each student a printed calendar (or a simplified version with just the days of the week). Have them circle today's date and point to each day of the week as they sing the song again. - Movement Break (5 mins)
Stand up and do actions for each day of the week. For example: Sunday – stretch like you’re waking up, Monday – pretend to go to work, Tuesday – do a small dance, Wednesday – wiggle, Thursday – hop, Friday – reach for the stars, Saturday – do jumping jacks. - Wrap-up (5 mins)
Sing the 'Days of the Week' song one last time. Ask individual students to name their favorite day of the week and why.
