Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students if they know any letters. Introduce the letter 'S' and tell them that they are going to watch a fun Sesame Street video about it. - Video Time (3 mins)
Play the Sesame Street video about the letter 'S' (URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I9652HzGWE). Encourage students to sing along and pay attention to the 'S' words. - Discussion (5 mins)
After the video, ask students what they learned about the letter 'S'. Review the sound of 'S' and some of the 'S' words from the video. - Activity: 'S' is for...
Have students brainstorm words that start with 'S'. Write them on a whiteboard or large piece of paper, drawing simple pictures next to them. For example, Sun, Snake, Sock - Letter 'S' Practice
Give each student a worksheet (hand-drawn or printed) with uppercase and lowercase 'S' for them to trace or color. This will help them learn how to write the letter.
