Play the Jack Hartmann 'Learn the Letter C' video. Encourage the children to sing along and follow the actions in the video, especially when it shows how to write the letter C in the air. - Sound and Word Exploration (10 mins)
After the video, review the /c/ sound. Ask the children to say the sound together. Then, go through the words from the video (cow, car, camera, camp, Alec, magic, music, attic) and have the children repeat each word, emphasizing the /c/ sound at the beginning or end. Encourage the children to think of other words that start with the letter C, such as cat, cake, or cup. - Writing Practice (10 mins)
Provide each child with a worksheet (or a blank piece of paper) and have them practice writing the uppercase and lowercase letter C. Guide them with verbal instructions, such as 'Start at the top and make a big curve' for the uppercase C, and 'Start in the middle and make a small curve' for the lowercase c. You can also have them trace the letters first. - Interactive Game: C Sound Hunt (5 mins)
Hide objects around the room that begin with the /c/ sound (e.g., a toy car, a picture of a cat, a small cup). Have the children search for the objects and name them, emphasizing the /c/ sound. For each object found, say aloud 'C is for [object]!'
