- Introduction (5 mins)
Greet the students and introduce the letter 'D'. Show them an uppercase 'D' and a lowercase 'd'. Ask if anyone knows any words that start with 'D'. - Watch the Video (5 mins)
Play the "The Letter D Song" video. Encourage students to listen carefully and sing along if they know the words. - Discussion (5 mins)
After the video, ask students what they saw and heard in the song. What were some of the 'D' words in the song? - Activity: 'D' Word Brainstorm (10 mins)
As a class, brainstorm as many words as you can that start with the letter 'D'. Write them on a whiteboard or large piece of paper. For each word, encourage the students to use it in a sentence. - Activity: Drawing 'D' (10 mins)
Have students draw pictures of things that start with the letter 'D'. They can draw a dog, a drum, a donut, etc. Encourage them to label their drawings with the letter 'D'. - Conclusion (5 mins)
Review the letter 'D' and the words they learned. Sing the 'Letter D' song one more time.
