  • Introduction (5 mins)

  • Video Viewing (5 mins)
    Play the Miacademy Learning Channel video 'Five Consonants: N, P, Q, R, and S'. Encourage students to watch and listen carefully to the sounds of each letter.
  • Letter Sound Practice (10 mins)
    Go through each letter (N, P, Q, R, S) individually. Show the letter on the board. Say the letter's name and its sound. Have the students repeat the letter name and sound after you. Use the example words from the video (nest, nut, pencil, pig, quarter, queen, ring, rock, sit, snake). Ask students to think of other words that start with each letter.
  • Sound Identification Game (10 mins)
    Say a word that starts with one of the five letters (N, P, Q, R, S). Have the students identify the starting letter sound. For example, 'What letter does the word 'sun' start with?' Reinforce correct answers and gently correct any mistakes.
  • Wrap-up (5 mins)
    Review the letters N, P, Q, R, and S and their sounds one last time. Encourage students to practice recognizing these letters and their sounds at home.
