- Introduction (5 mins)
Introduce Bob the dog and explain that the class will be helping to teach Bob tricks by learning to read words with the short 'O' sound. Review consonants and vowels, focusing on the short 'O' sound. - Word Family: 'op' (10 mins)
Introduce the 'op' word family. Model blending sounds to read words like 'mop', 'hop', and 'pop'. Have students repeat the words and identify the common 'op' ending. - Word Family: 'ob' (10 mins)
Introduce the 'ob' word family. Model blending sounds to read words like 'job', 'rob', and 'sob'. Have students repeat the words and identify the common 'ob' ending. - Word Family: 'og' (10 mins)
