- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students what they already know about words. Explain that words can be grouped into different categories. Introduce Mia and Ashley and the video. - Watch the Video (5 mins)
Play the "Introduction to Nouns and Verbs" video from Miacademy Learning Channel (URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGcAyAnghHs). Ensure all students can see and hear the video clearly. - Discuss Nouns (10 mins)
After the video, ask students what a noun is. Review the definition: A noun is a word that names a person, place, or thing. Write examples of nouns on the board: boy, lake, bicycle, lion. Have students brainstorm other nouns and add them to the list. - Discuss Verbs (10 mins)
Ask students what a verb is. Review the definition: A verb is an action word. Write examples of verbs on the board: run, eat, crawl, fly. Have students act out different verbs and add them to the list. - Sorting Activity (15 mins)
Prepare a worksheet with a list of words (e.g., girl, car, cat, park, jump, sing, ride, draw, house, talk, tree, hop). Have students work individually or in pairs to sort the words into two columns: Nouns and Verbs. - Wrap Up (5 mins)
Review the answers to the sorting activity. Reiterate the definitions of nouns and verbs. Encourage students to look for nouns and verbs in their books and around the classroom.

- Act It Out!
Call out different verbs (e.g., jump, dance, read) and have the students act them out. Then, call out nouns and have students think of related actions (e.g. ball, the students might throw or bounce it). - Noun and Verb Hunt
Give students a short text and have them highlight all the nouns in one color and all the verbs in another color.
