Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Greet the students and introduce the topic: A Visit to the Dentist. Briefly discuss what a dentist does and why we visit them. Show the picture from the video. - Video Viewing (5 mins)
Play the video 'English Language - Grade 1: A Visit to the Dentist' from the Guyana Learning Channel. Instruct students to listen carefully to the story. - Comprehension Questions (10 mins)
Ask the comprehension questions from the video, encouraging students to answer in complete sentences. Guide them to refer back to the story if needed. Remind them not to panic and to take their time. - Drawing Activity (10 mins)
Instruct students to draw and color the three items the dentist gave to the class in the story: toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss. Discuss the importance of each item. - Discussion and Wrap-up (5 mins)
Lead a class discussion about the importance of brushing teeth and visiting the dentist. Reiterate the key concepts learned in the lesson. Ask students about their own experiences with visiting the dentist.
