- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students what they think 'at the ends' means. Show them your hands, point to your head and toes. Discuss examples like lining up for lunch or story time, and what it means to be at the front and back of the line. - Video Viewing (5 mins)
Play the video 'Learn Grade 1 - Maths - Concept at The Ends'. Ask students to pay attention to the examples of 'at the ends' shown in the video (tug of war, birds on a branch, etc.). - Discussion (5 mins)
After the video, discuss the examples shown. Ask students to name other situations where they see things 'at the ends'. Review the meaning of 'first' and 'last'. - Activity 1: Picture Identification (10 mins)
Draw or project a picture of a line of objects (e.g., cars, animals, shapes). Have students identify the objects at the ends by pointing to them, circling them on a worksheet, or verbally describing them. - Activity 2: Color Block Ends (10 mins)
Use colored blocks, crayons, or markers. Make a row of colors (red, blue, green, yellow). Ask them which colors are at the ends. Rearrange to new combinations. Repeat.
