- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students what numbers they already know. Review counting to 20. Introduce the idea that numbers bigger than 9 need two digits to be written. - Video Viewing (5 mins)

Use base-ten blocks (or drawings) to represent different two-digit numbers. Have students identify how many 'tens' and how many 'ones' are in each number. For example, show the number 23. Ask: 'How many groups of ten are there?' (2) 'How many single ones are there?' (3) - Practice Time (10 mins)
Give each student a worksheet with two-digit numbers. Ask them to circle the tens place and underline the ones place. They can also draw the number using tens and ones blocks. - Wrap Up (5 mins)
