Begin by asking students what they already know about 'top' and 'bottom'. Show them the video 'Learn Grade 1 - Maths - Top And Bottom'. Explain that today, they are going to learn all about identifying the top and the bottom of objects. - Interactive Activity: Top and Bottom Hunt (15 mins)
Have students look around the classroom and identify objects that have a clear top and bottom. For example: the top and bottom of their desks, the top and bottom of a book, the top and bottom of the classroom door. Have them describe where objects are in relation to others using 'top' and 'bottom'. E.g., 'The book is on top of the desk'. - Worksheet Activity (10 mins)
Distribute a worksheet with pictures of various objects. Instruct students to circle the 'top' part of each object in one color (e.g., red) and the 'bottom' part in another color (e.g., blue). - Wrap Up (5 mins)
