Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by greeting the students and introducing the learning goal: to learn about ordinal numbers (first, second, third), 'last', and 'between'. Briefly discuss what ordinal numbers are and how they are different from counting numbers. - Video Presentation (7 mins)
Play the YouTube video "Grade 1: Math Lesson #11 Ordinal Numbers; First, Second, Third, Last, and Between". Encourage students to listen carefully to the story about the birds on the log. - Discussion and Review (8 mins)
After the video, review the concepts of first, second, third, last, and between using examples from the video. Ask questions to check for understanding. - Activity: Line Up! (10 mins)
Have 3-5 students line up. Ask the class questions like: "Who is first in line?", "Who is second?", "Who is last?", "Who is between [name] and [name]?" Repeat with different students.

Provide students with a worksheet with a row of pictures (e.g., cars, animals, shapes). Instruct them to color the first one red, the second one blue, and the third one green. Have them circle the last one. - Object Arrangement
