Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students what they already know about counting. Introduce the concept of skip counting as a faster way to count. Explain that they will be learning to skip count using songs. - Video Viewing (10 mins)
Play the 'Skip Counting Songs! Learn to skip count with these easy songs! (Classical Conversations)' video. Encourage students to sing along and clap to the rhythm. - Practice and Repetition (15 mins)
Go through each skip counting sequence (2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 7s, 8s, 9s, and 10s) individually. Have students repeat the sequence after you, both verbally and by writing them down. Use fingers to count up. For example, when skip counting by 2's, show them two fingers at a time for each number. - Interactive Activities (10 mins)
Engage students in interactive activities to reinforce skip counting skills (see 'Interactive Exercises' below). Review the multiples of each number. - Wrap-up (5 mins)
