- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students if they know how to count by tens. Have a few students share what they know. Introduce the idea that counting by tens is a faster way to count many objects. - Video Viewing (5 mins)
Watch the Khan Academy video "Counting by tens | Counting | Early Math | Khan Academy" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnPpFw3natI). Encourage students to pay attention to how the video uses ten frames to represent groups of ten. - Ten Frame Practice (10 mins)
Use physical ten frames (or drawings) and counters. Have students build groups of ten. Start with one ten frame (10), then two (20), and so on, up to ten ten frames (100). As they build each group, have them say the number aloud: "Ten, twenty, thirty..." - Number Line Activity (10 mins)
Use a number line that goes up to 100. Have students point to and say the numbers when counting by tens: 10, 20, 30, and so on. - Wrap-up (5 mins)
Review the key concept of counting by tens. Ask students why counting by tens is helpful. Recap the numbers in the tens sequence (10, 20, 30...100).

Play a game where students take turns counting by tens, starting from 10. Each student says the next number in the sequence. If a student hesitates or makes a mistake, they are out, and the game continues until only one student remains.
