Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students what they already know about the months of the year. Show a large calendar and point out the different months. Explain that there are 12 months in a year and we're going to learn them all! - Watch the Video (5 mins)
Play the 'Months of the Year Song' video by NUMBEROCK. Encourage students to sing along and dance to the music. - Months Review (10 mins)
After the video, go through each month individually. Say the month clearly and have the students repeat it. Use visuals (pictures, flashcards) to represent each month and associate them with seasonal activities or holidays. - Calendar Activity (10 mins)
Distribute a blank calendar template to each student. Guide them in filling in the months of the year in the correct order. You can provide a word bank for assistance. Discuss special events/holidays associated with each month. - Wrap Up (5 mins)
Review the months of the year one last time as a class. Play the Months of the Year Song by NUMBEROCK again. Emphasize the importance of knowing the months for telling time and planning activities.
