Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking students what they like about their town or neighborhood. What are their favorite places to visit? Introduce the idea that towns have many important places where people live, work, and play. - Video Viewing (5 mins)
Play the "Welcome to My Town!" video. Encourage students to sing along and pay attention to the different places mentioned in the song. - Vocabulary Review (10 mins)
Write the names of the places from the song on the board (e.g., palace, shopping center, university, cafe, restaurant, museum, cinema, playground, library, station, cathedral, hospital, swimming pool, market, theatre, bridge, park, school, police station, stadium). Discuss each location. Ask students: What happens there? Who might you see there? - Town Map Activity (15 mins)
Have students draw a map of their ideal town. They should include at least five locations from the song or from their own experiences. Encourage them to label each location and draw pictures to represent them. - Wrap Up (5 mins)
Review the different places discussed. Ask students to share their maps and explain why they chose those locations for their town.

- Picture Matching Game
Show pictures of the different locations (e.g., hospital, library, playground). Have students match the picture to the correct word. - Charades
Have students act out different activities that might take place at each location. For example, pretending to read a book at the library or playing on the swings at the playground.
