Watch the YouTube video 'Science Video Lesson/Tutorial For Grade 1: Types Of Animals'. Remind students to pay attention to the different types of animals and their characteristics. - Discussion & Explanation (10 mins)
After watching the video, discuss each animal group. Use pictures or flashcards of animals (elephant, lion, crow, snake, goldfish, frog) and ask students to identify which group they belong to. Explain the key characteristics of each group in simple terms (e.g., mammals have hair, birds have feathers). - Activity: Animal Sorting (10 mins)
Divide students into small groups. Provide each group with pictures of different animals (or use animal toys). Have them sort the animals into the correct groups (mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians). Supervise and assist as needed. - Wrap-up (5 mins)
Review the main animal groups and their characteristics. Answer any remaining questions. Introduce the concept that humans are mammals, too!
