Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)
Begin by asking the children if they know what a sentence is. Have the children name sentences they know. Then introduce the video: 'Today we are going to watch a fun video all about sentences!' - Video Viewing (7 mins)
Play the YouTube video 'Four Types of Sentences | Learn about Statement, Question, Emotion, and Command Sentences' by Learn Bright. - Discussion and Review (8 mins)
After watching the video, review the four types of sentences with the children. Use simple examples to illustrate each type. Ask the discussion questions below. - Sentence Sorting Activity (10 mins)
Complete the sentence sorting activity: Prepare large cards with different types of sentences written on them (one sentence per card). Include the ending punctuation! Prepare stations that are labeled with the 4 types of sentences and their ending punctuation. Have students take turns reading the cards and placing them at the correct station.

- Sentence Charades
Write down examples of each sentence type on separate pieces of paper. Have each child select a sentence and act out the sentence based on how it should sound. If they act out an emotion sentence, they need to show excitement. If they act out a question, their face needs to show they are asking a question.
