Educator Instructions
- Introduction (5 mins)

Play the YouTube video "The Keyboard For Kids: A Fun and Educational Exercise" by Kidz Korner Creative Learning. Encourage students to pay attention to the different keys and what they do. - Key Discovery (10 mins)
After the video, review the different types of keys (alphabet, number, special). Ask students to point to each type of key on their own (or a picture of a) keyboard. Discuss what each key does (e.g., alphabet keys for letters, number keys for numbers, spacebar for spaces). - Interactive Exercises (10 mins)
Complete the interactive exercises outlined below. These can be adapted based on available technology and resources. - Wrap-up and Review (5 mins)
Quickly review what was learned during the lesson. Ask students to name their favorite key and what it does. Inform students they will be taking a short quiz on what they learned.
Interactive Exercises
- Key Scavenger Hunt
Give students a list of keys to find on the keyboard (e.g., 'Find the letter A,' 'Find the number 5,' 'Find the spacebar'). They can work individually or in pairs. - Typing Practice (if available)
If computers are available, have students practice typing their names or simple words using a kid-friendly typing program or website. Alternatively, provide a worksheet where they can write the letters corresponding to words. - Act It Out!
