Tell them you will be watching a video and learning about the days of the week. Discuss what a calendar looks like and how to find dates on a calendar. - Video Viewing (5 mins)
Play the 'What are the Days of the Week?' video from Miacademy Learning Channel. Encourage students to listen carefully and repeat the days of the week as they are presented in the video. - Discussion (5 mins)
After the video, review the days of the week. Ask students to name them in order. Discuss the difference between weekdays (Monday-Friday) and weekend days (Saturday & Sunday). - Activity: Calendar Creation (10 mins)
Provide each student with a blank calendar template for the current week. Have them write the days of the week at the top of each column. Assist them with spelling as needed. They can draw pictures or write activities they plan to do on each day. - Wrap-up (5 mins)
Review the days of the week one last time. Have students share their calendar creations and discuss their plans for the week. Sing a 'Days of the Week' song.
